We had the privilege of attending the Yacolt Veteran's Memorial dedication on Veteran's Day this year. The Eagle Scout project of a young man who attends our church, the Memorial is quite impressive. The Dedication ceremony itself was well attended with several hundred folks gathered on a chilly but dry day to remember those who have served on behalf of our country as well as to honor Josiah Woltersdorf for his diligence in bringing the project to completion. All in attendance that day were treated to a lunch that featured pulled pork sandwiches (which were, by the way, absolutely delicious). Yes, Yacolt is quite a ways out there (30+ miles from Vancouver), but I encourage you to make the drive - you will be glad you did.
