"...It is more blessed to give than to receive."
We've been blessed, my husband and I. We've been blessed to share out of our abundance with others. We've never gone without -- there's always been more than enough food on our table. And even though our journey together has taken us through our share of rough spots, they've been few and far between.
Enter current rough spot: The economy is slow. Work for my electrician husband is slow. The cost of everything is rising. But we're OK, really! We've been through slow times before and know how to do this. We've tightened our belts, reworked our budget, and prayed. God hears and provides.
And so we find ourselves on the opposite end of Jesus' wise saying from Acts 20:35 -- the receiving end. It's humbling, but it's also a blessing. Dear friends of ours who knew we'd be wanting to place our vegetable seed order called last week and offered to include our order along with theirs -- to buy it for us. God hears and provides.
Thank you, LORD, for the blessings you shower down upon us! For your provision of opportunity to both give and receive!
What are you thankful for today?
