And just exactly how does Dole Valley Girl the Younger spend an afternoon now that summer vacation is upon her? That's right, she does what all ten year old girls do, she opens her very own outdoor flower shop...
Notice the lovely forget-me-nots bordering the hand-dug stairs leading to her shop's entrance? Look closely...
Tree bark lines the floor and a piece of firewood serves as both work station and display shelf. An assortment of handcrafted wildflower bouquets, "scrubbies," and other original creations were in stock for the bargain price of only 25 cents each.
I, of course, bought four items. :) Wouldn't you?
Welcome to our shop!
Sweet Alainna, big sister to the cute baby we've been watching, spent a couple nights with us and assisted AnnaLynn with this project. They were out the door as soon as lunch was finished and worked on their shop until the Papa arrived home from work. And although the afternoon was a mixture of sunshine and rain showers, there was no work stoppage. :)
I love thinking of all the imagination that went into the stairs, the flooring, the bouquets! I love the proud smiles on their faces! I love that these girls didn't mind the dirt or the rain or the work.
Oh, to be young again!
What are you thankful for today?
