Cape Lookout - 2011

Last Sunday through Thursday found us at Cape Lookout State Park on the Oregon Coast for our annual camping trip with our church family! The weather was fantastic, the winds were calm, and the fellowship was sweet. :)

Because this was our family's only getaway this summer, the rest and relaxation were just what we needed. Work is, of course, a large part of any camping trip--from the packing, to the set up, the cooking, the time-to-take-it-all-down and repacking, and let's not forget the piles of laundry upon arrival back home. But as everyone knows, the fresh air, campfires, S'mores, quiet walks on the beach, and the gorgeous sunsets make it all worth it!

Hooray, we're finally here!...

Fun on the beach...

An evening walk...

Singing around the campfire at the end of the day...

Looking forward to next year!

  1. Looks like you all had fun! Love it down beautiful. And the cheese factory is close enough for a quick ice cream run! Just sayin'...:)

We're heading down to Coos Bay later this week for our daughter's annual church campout... Can't wait to relax with my toes in the sand! Hubby has plans for some crabbing, but that sounds like an awful lot of work to me!

Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by the cottage and leaving a bit of yourself behind :)

Your pictures of the coast have left me breathless and a bit sad to see the ocean again. I was born on the coast of South America, the ocean, the Atlantic, was my playground. It is nice to see the beauty of the Pacific in all its glory.

    Grace & Peace,

  3. All the pictures look great! Wish we could have been there too!

Miss you guys and see you soon!

What delightful pictures! It looks like a very enjoyable time!

It's been a long time since I have been camping. It surely is quite an experience sleeping in a tent in the outdoors. :)

I'm glad to hear that you and your family are enjoying themselves. I LOVE the beach! I want to get back to a beach, someday in the future.

  5. Kim - Did you really think we'd not stop for ice cream? Cheese pics are coming. :)

Maria - Thanks for dropping in; what a fantastic playground you grew up with!

Jess - We, of course, wish you and Z could've been there...

W.Cottage - Thanks for your sweet words. :)

    Blessings to all! ~Lisa

LOVE all the pics, but especially the one of you and Dan. Looks like the weather was perfect! I love you my friend! J.

  7. J - Which pic? The smiling one or the one Jeff called "Old people on the beach"? Love ya back! ~L

  8. Looks like such a wonderful time! Your photos are gorgeous -- such a beautiful place!

  9. Ohhhh LOOK at those waves and star fish! You are making me homesick. I do love love love the smell of the ocean. My kids think I am sooo weird when I breath in deep and savor the smell of salt water, lol. Hmmm do you think my family could come next year? [o= I have always wanted to see the Oregon Coast.

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

  10. Michelle - Thanks!

Mary - Would love to have your family join us; I'm sure you'd fit right in. :) And I know what you mean about the coast making you homesick as I spent several years of my childhood on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound -- some of my most fond memories!

    Blessings, ~Lisa
