We interrupt our regularly scheduled program...

I did plan to share a few things here on the blog this week. Really, I did. :)

A truly delicious homemade salsa recipe (which you can find here), and the books I ordered from Amazon that finally arrived!

But ...

...it snowed.

I did make a delicious stew and had planned to share the recipe on Wednesday, but...

...it snowed some more.

Should've used a yardstick. :)

With so much snow weighing down the tree limbs and power lines, our lights flickered off and on and off and on. Thankfully, our power stayed on, but our phone and Internet decided to take Wednesday off.

While the kids enjoyed the snow, I sorted through my yarn stash and found this long-abandoned UFO...

...a lacy shawl that I hope to finish sometime this year.

We made more soup...

...and let the cats come in to warm themselves by the fire.

We even did a little baking.

And if you come back on Monday, we'll share the recipe. At least that's the plan.

Have a great weekend!

~Lisa :)

  3. Hey, I stopped by from "a wise woman builds her home". We live in the pacific northwest and for this area - we got a lot of snow this week. We sledded, drank cocoa, and headed out for more sledding. :) Our little homeschool took an unplanned vacation.
You have some beautiful pictures here.
Blessings to you and your family

  5. Wow! That's a LOT of snow! We got about 5 inches maybe 6 today...driving was a real mess! But it sure is pretty, and no disruption of power or internet, so it's been nice and cozy this evening! Your food looks delicious, and your kitties are so sweet!

    Blessings,
    Lori
