More than a feeling... {gratituesday & a giveaway}

To love with that kind of love seems impossible this side of Heaven. Yet these words from J.C. Ryle seem to put it in perspective...
Practice love diligently. It is one of those graces, above all, which grow by constant exercise. Strive more and more to carry it into every little detail of daily life.

More than a feeling, love is also an action! And because today is Valentine's Day, I've been loving on my family and have decided it would be a perfect day to share the love with all of you out there in blogland by offering a giveaway! All you have to do to enter is:

1.  Be a follower of HappyinDoleValley (or join by clicking the nice little "join this site" button over there to the right).

2.  Leave a comment telling me which of the three pairs of lovely hand-crocheted fingerless gloves pictured below you'd like to receive if you're chosen as the winner:

Moss green -- modeled by the lovely AnnaLynn :)

Also available in oatmeal and tangerine. It's really not so easy to capture the true colors of these.

The tangerine color is most accurately expressed in this photo...

And this one best shows off the oatmeal version.

We'll draw a winner Saturday the 18th at noon! And YES, this giveaway is open to my friends both inside and outside the U.S. :)

~~~~~~~~~~
For love, for family, for friends, for hands to create and type and communicate, and for oh-so-much-more I am thankful. Join me for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers :)
  5. I think that you nailed what I love about Valentine's Day. It's an action day. We may love on each other 365 days a year... but not like we do on Valentine's Day!
    I would love to enter your give-away but alas cannot. My daughter Erin set up our blogs a year ago. When she did so we didn't know that putting us all on one account would make us all interconnected. I've never been able to follow anyone. So, the way I follow people is by finding them again in my comments and chasing them! You've been worth chasing Lisa. I love your heart and your family... and your beautiful creations. Always an inspiration!
    Blessings, Debbie
  7. I was so busy trying to decide on which colour was my favourite I forgot to write how much I like what you did with the piece from 1 Corinthians at the top of the post! We had that reading at our wedding, and when we renewed our vows ten years later. At that service, our minister actually did a sermon round it using our names to emphasise how you have to 'live' love (as in 'April is patient', 'Guy is kind' etc. I must admit, when he said "April is patient" I flinched a little because that's one of the things I really have to work on :) It was a lovely sermon though!
    1. Thanks for sharing, April! I would've flinched myself. :) I'm so thankful that now, at 48, I'm so much more patient now than I was years ago -- still "exercising" that grace (along with the others) though! ~Lisa
