Let us resolve... {J.C. Ryle}

Let us resolve to be more holy and more bright.
Let us bury our idols.
Let us put away all strange gods.
Let us cast out the old leaven.
Let us lay aside every weight and besetting sin.
Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, and perfect holiness in the fear of God.
Let us renew our covenant with our beloved Lord.
Let us aim at the highest and best things.
Let us resolve by God's blessing to be more holy, and then I know and am persuaded we shall be more useful and more happy.

Wishing you all a blessed Lord's Day!

  4. Mmm-hmmm...we are JCR fans, too! I am, in fact, in a time of "renewal" and "casting out of old leaven"...cleaning the cobwebs and junk out of heart and home. I'm taking this week all by myself in Amish-country in Illinois, spending time in the Word and waiting upon the Lord to give me direction for this new phase of my life with both my boys gone. It's been, so far, a VERY good time for me :-)

  5. Me again...I was browsing your site a bit and saw that one of your kitchen goals for the year was to do a cream soup substitute, and it was crossed off your list...do you have the source you used for this somewhere that could be shared? I've been wanting to ditch the canned junk for casseroles and do a homemade. Anything you can share would be appreciated! I can watch your recipes page, or just email me, or reply to this...thanks, Lisa!

    1. Lori, praying blessings upon your time away and trusting the Lord to show you what is HIS perfect will for this new season for you. About the cream soup, I'll shoot you an email sometime this week with the recipe. I'd say that I'd post it, but I just don't know if I'd get to it with this being our last week before we start lessons for the year. Lots of canning going on here and cramming as much outdoor project in before fall arrives along with the rainy season. Who has time to do much blogging? Not me it seems. :) Did you get your soap, btw?

      Blessings, ~Lisa

    2. Thank you, Lisa, I'll look forward to the recipe! Yes, I did get the soaps, thank you SO much! We're working through the last bar that I bought, so I'll probably get to start using yours in late September. Around the time we might have to turn the heat on now and again, unless it stays hot like it has been, LOL! So that'll be perfect, as your soap is not drying to my skin.

    3. So glad to know the soap arrived and that you like it. :) Again, thank you for supporting us! I'm busy canning today, but perhaps I'll get that recipe to you later today... Thanks for being patient!

      Blessings to you in Amish country!! ~Lisa
