Calling all locals -- Join us in April!!

This year's annual Christian Heritage Washington State Family Discipleship & Homeschooling Conference is only seven weeks away! I just cannot tell you what a blessing this conference has been to our family. Attending has been one of the highlights of our homeschooling year for the past five years, and I'm certain this year will be the same. :)

Need inspiration? Need encouragement? Need fellowship with like-minded families? Register here and join us; I promise, you won't be disappointed. A bonus this year for returning families is the Christian Heritage Ambassador Family program: Returning families who bring a family who has never attended the conference both receive 40% off registration; all you have to do is preregister by April 12. Of course registration at the door is always an option if you can't preregister, but you will pay a little more.

And now, just for fun, join me on a trip down memory lane...

2008 -- our first year attending the Christian Heritage conference. We were blessed to have our oldest daughter with us that year as well as to have Doug Phillips as the keynote speaker. The only question we asked ourselves after the conference was why we hadn't attended the two previous years!

2009 -- year two. A fairly large group from our church enjoyed spending two days together in fellowship as we were encouraged by keynotes by Voddie Baucham. A couple of the fun things Daniel and AnnaLynn enjoy about attending the conference are swimming in the hotel swimming pool, breakfast (waffles) in the hotel dining room each morning, and our invasion of Azteca restaurant after the conference is over before making the I-5 drive south to home.

2010 -- year three. We learned so much from Ken Ham this year. Our Daniel, a real creation science buff, had a question or two for Mr. Ham who graciously took the time to speak with our young son who was only 11 years old at the time.

2011 -- year four. The keynote speaker this time was Kevin Swanson. If you've ever heard him speak, you know what a passionate message he brings. I highly recommend his book, The Second Mayflower.

2012 -- year five. Last year we were again blessed to hear encouraging keynote messages by Voddie Baucham who just happens to be AnnaLynn's favorite speaker. :)

2013 will surely be another conference to remember with keynotes by Doug Phillips of the Vision Forum. We're excited to have discovered a family not even two miles away with whom we will be registering to receive that 40% discount! If any of you dear readers decide to go, please let me know so we can say hello to one another!

Thanks for visiting Happy in Dole Valley! To join us on our journey, look to the upper right to follow or subscribe. :)

  1. Oh how wonderful to be able to go to a homeschooling conference! We don't have anything like that up where I live. We've seen a lot of Ken Ham's teachings online and my girls have learned a lot!
It's wonderful to meet other like minded families for support! Enjoy!

    1. Jennifer, our state conference is held every April -- maybe next year?? Lot's of good messages to be heard; I'd be happy to share some with you. Blessings,

      Lisa :)

  2. I just grabbed the brochure Friday, at our co-op. We live in Puyallup, WA and I am considering it. I loved seeing the fun your family had and to hear it is such a great blessing. Thank you for sharing and I will let you know if we do attend.

    1. Tanya! Please do let us know if you do attend; it would be so much fun to say hi in person. :) If you visit the CH website, you can leave a message that you're looking for a returning family to register with; that's how we discovered the family that is registering with us. The 40% off makes it so our kids are free, and that's a great savings. Blessings!! ~Lisa

  3. I enjoyed looking at the photographs you posted. It's fun seeing how your children have grown through the years.

    1. Oh, I know! They do grow up so quickly. That's why I was so surprised when I saw that photo of your sweet girl recently -- she's just not a baby anymore, is she? That my two youngest are most certainly little kids anymore sometimes makes me a little sad, but I'm enjoying the new phase of life my dh and I are beginning to enjoy. :)

Thanks so much for visiting; your kind thoughts and questions are always welcome. :)
