Pride and Prejudice and Baby Gifts...

Here, at last, are the finished baby shower gifts I mentioned last week. :)  The pastel is for a girl and the brown colorway is for a boy. Both were knit from the same pattern although the brown one, which sort of looks like an acorn, has more ribbing and therefore, has a rolled-up cuff. I made these up on the fly using a decrease that made a straight line rather than a curving one to the left or right (slip two knit-wise, knit one, pass the two slipped stitches over together) and love the way they turned out. Hope the new mommas do, too, when they receive them this Sunday. :)

Miss Austen continues to amuse me...

  5. I think there are few things as satisfying to knit as baby hats, and few things as satisfying to read as Jane Austen. You must be very satisfied. :)

  15. Darling little hats, Lisa! I like the little "acorn head" especially...

I just started re-reading Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss. Lately I've been reading books that I have stored on my Kindle Reader, as I've been on the road quite a bit between southern IL and SW Wisconsin. Anyway, this book is in there, and I just felt like reading it again, so I am!

Big day coming up on Friday, I hope to have it blogged by Saturday morning. :-)

    Blessings and {{{HUGS}}},

  16. Fantastic hats! I am currently crocheting a beanie for my boy. :) I so want to read that book - sadly, I have not read a lot of the classics. Trying to make up for it now!
