in which I spend a weekend with Charlotte...
[mindful monday #5]

{Mindful Mondays}
a good starting place for the week
and a nifty way to document what I am...

Reading: board books! My New Baby and Waiting for Baby which were Christmas gifts for Charlotte

Listening to: laughter, the delight of Charlotte's expanding vocabulary, the joy of a newborn's cry

Studying: the Word

Creating: a new pattern as I knit matching socks for Miss Charlotte and her sweet new baby sister :)

Cooking: meals for church families who've also welcomed new babies this month: a gluten free chicken soup with rice, a shepherd's pie with ground turkey for a mom who doesn't eat beef, and several meals for Jeff and Christina

Educating: not much today as I need to play catch up after being on grandma duty over the weekend

Feeling: joyful, thankful

Thinking: how insignificant the Seahawk's loss yesterday is in the grand scheme of things

Praying for: rest for my daughter-in-law, for Charlotte as she learns to share mama with baby sister, for my son and the responsibilities that are his as head of a growing family, and for granddaughter Linnea Darlene who arrived screaming praises at 12:05 pm on Friday, January 30 :)

Thankful for: the fulfillment of Psalm 128:6 in my life!

What are you mindful of today?

joining Kathleen & Karen :)

    1. Thanks!! The name was kept a secret until baby arrived; it is a lovely name. My daughter-in-law says it's of Swedish origin and that she learned of it from a book she had as a girl: Linnea in Monet's Garden.

The name Linnea is really beautiful, I had a good friend in college with that name and that is the only other time I've ever heard it, but have loved it since then. hope you are catching up on some rest and duties after a busy weekend!
