slow, happy weekending...

This weekend I got to wear my Baba hat...the girls joined us after church on Sunday while mommy and daddy attended a wedding and reception that stretched from early afternoon until late into the evening. Love these girls so much and am so thankful for their smiles and love for one another. We played with Bruce the bunny, checked on the garden (corn is up and blueberries are close!), and had fun with an ancient tricycle (was my brother's and mine when we were wee kiddos). So fun!

I'm working my way backward here... Saturday was housework and selling our flock of laying hens in preparation for our Scotland trip in June. We'll be revamping our chicken yarn as well as the hen house (likely building a new one), so the timing was right. It's never easy to let our gals go; we've done this many times now, and we always hope the new owners will treat them well. After we return home from our trip, we plan to start over with new chicks which is always exciting...Charlotte and Linnea will love them!

Other Saturday happenings included a successful luggage shopping trip for Dan and me along with a stop at Killer Burger where you can get your classic rock/heavy metal fix and catch up on the NBA playoffs. I had a bunless peanut-butter-pickle-bacon burger...don't knock it 'til you've tried it. :)

Knitting was sparse this weekend, if you can believe that. I did finish a pair of socks for a new baby at church -- Ravelry link here. (My new Wee Pea! pattern is still on sale thru the end of May -- use coupon code "Wee Pea!" at checkout for 30% off this or any of my other self-published patterns in my Ravelry shop. I've had a great response so far and thank you for your support!)
