Coming soon...

After lots of encouragement from my supportive family and friends, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and join the growing ranks of Etsy shop owners! That's right, you read that correctly, I'm finally, actually, really, going to do it, Lord willing, of course. :)

You'll soon find a selection of my finest hand-knitted and crocheted beanies, bonnets, and "boots" available for purchase for all the sweet little ones in your life! In addition to items for babies and toddlers, you'll also find knitted and crocheted hats in several styles, slippers, washcloths, and more for children, teens, and adults.

The most exciting and fun part of this entire adventure for me is that almost every item I offer for sale will be made from one of my very own original patterns (which I hope to make available for sale soon!). And if all that is not enough to entice you to visit my shop, I'll also be selling my very own hand-crafted soaps and bee's wax candles! Whew! Yes, I've been a busy, busy girl. :)

The name of my happy little Etsy shop is Happy in Dole Valley. Yes, I do realize it's the same name as my blog. Original? Perhaps not. But what can I say? I like it. ;) And although there's nothing for sale in my store yet, I thought I'd give you a preview:

Watch for my grand opening and a giveaway!!

Seeking Proverbs 31, the incentive for my venture...

Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.
She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.
She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.
She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.
She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.
She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.
She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.
She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.
Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
“ Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

~Proverbs 31:10-31

  1. All looks good! :) Only one suggestion for your soaps before they are photographed. The one picture you have now is good, but they look a little bland in the picture. Adding a colorful string with perhaps a small tag either saying "Happy In Dole Valley" or the type of soap it is would add more visual appeal. That or just photographed in a way so that all you're seeing is not a sea of beige color. :)

    Can't wait!

    Love your daughter,

  2. Ah! That's why I need your opinion, my dear daughter! The picture of the basket of soaps is the only one I had to use for my post. Thanks for the great idea for adding some "visual appeal." :) I do have a couple ideas for the soaps, but you'll have to wait to see them...

    Love ya!

Thanks so much for visiting; your kind thoughts and questions are always welcome. :)
