A warm spring day and other homestead news...

Finally. It was sunny and warm on Saturday! My one and only daffodil took advantage of the weather to grace us with her beauty...

My super smart hubby took advantage of our weekend company and split some of the lengths he cut with the chain saw last weekend...

That's a great start on our wood for next winter; thanks guys!!

After lunch the guys drove the long half mile (haha!) to a nearby logging road to do a little target practice (we could hear them back at the house!)...

Back at the house the gals were busy baking for Easter, but sadly, I forgot to take pictures of the bread and dessert Christina and Marilyn baked. I did remember to take a picture of the delicious muffins we had for breakfast though...

I fed the sourdough starter I'm thrilled to say is coming along nicely...

Our lettuce sprouts are looking good...

Our chicks got a taste of fresh green spring grass...

And the rain returned on Sunday and continues to fall today. Chores still have to be done though, and as you can see, my Daniel isn't too excited about working in the rain.

So what's new in your neck of the woods?

  1. Wow! That is an amazing amount of wood! You'll be stocked for years! Looks like G'pa and G'ma's visit went well and you all had a good time!

  3. Hi Lisa! Your sourdough starter looks great - very bubbly, healthy, and happy! Love the chickens too! How long have you had them?

  4. Hi Mindy, Our chicks arrived in mid-March and were just moved outside into their hen-house townhouse early this week. So far they seem to be enjoying the great outdoors better than our garage brooder. Thanks for stopping by! ~Lisa
