I love this story. :)
And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
One of my favorite Christmas stories is How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. That the Grinch was changed -- his heart grew three sizes that day, remember? What a glorious story-picture of how the gospel changes lives! And all because the Whos down in Whoville celebrated even though there was no "stuff." What a terrific example those Whos are, eh?
They, who had no tree,
and no Christmas feast,
still celebrated and welcomed Christmas with joyous singing!
Is there a lesson to be learned here? I think so. And may we learn it. Wishing a very merry Christmas to all my fellow knitters and crocheters out there!
Oh, and I really love this sweetie, too. :)
Sweet hand-crocheted fingerless gloves have been flying off my hook...
